The Giant Fly

Has anyone else seen he giant fly in the gardens by the Labworth Cafe? I had to laugh at first. Its brilliant. I wondered why a fly and who made it? If you havent already seen it, then you must.

Seen it onthe Evening Echo website - apparently it's a giant bee representing a rare species found on Canvey Maybee someone can take a photo and upload it here?

The area where the bee is, is called Bumble Bee Park

It is a Shrill Carder Bee which is extinct in many parts of the UK but is quite abundant on Canvey one of its last strongholds so I understand.
Went past the place on Sunday if only I had known I would have taken a picture

I beg your pardon. I was driving past and couldnt really get a close look. I just assumed it was a fly. I will go back over soon and see if i can get a snap shot of it.

I see the Giant Bee has been vandalised. What a shame. Why even bother doing anything on Canvey unless someones going to employ a night watchman. Pointless. Send it to Benfleet and i will look after in my road. Someone must share the same the fustration as i do.
