Exact date for new bridge in 1973

Hi,
Does anybody know the exact date for the opening of the new bridge across Benfleet Creek in 1973? We need it to go onto a plaque in the projected 'Canvey Gateway' park/garden on the E.side of Canvey Rd next to the creek. Thanks, Graham.

Sorry I cannot help but good to know you are involved with the garden - I'll look forward to seeing the final outcome. It is good to see this is the kind of important thing that the council is putting money into to remember our past.

Hi Liam,
Sorry only just picked up your message. I've checked with Ray Howard and it appears there was no specific date(ceremony etc) as the time was so close to the opening of Canvey Way so it was just morphed into the road system. I think can you can possibly find the finished lay-out for the information board on the C P B C website or Groundworks.Thought the DVD was great, you certainly covered every aspect of Canvey's history.
